Most homes are built to a specification or building code. Legacy was built to a higher standard.
Every major system, structural component, and finish was carefully evaluated and refined to
determine the best possible solution. Building codes were exceeded at every level with an
oversized engineered foundation and a fully engineered LSL structural framing package,
providing the stability and precision required to achieve perfectly straight walls and ceilings for a
true Level 5 finish throughout.
The home incorporates industry-leading mechanical systems, a professionally designed and fully
integrated lighting and automation platform, and extensive custom millwork crafted from rift-
sawn white oak and mahogany. Every material, system, and construction method was selected
based on performance, durability, functionality, and its contribution to the overall quality of the
home.
What distinguishes Legacy?
Legacy is not defined by any single feature, but the philosophy behind it. Thousands of design,
engineering, and construction decisions were made with a singular focus on achieving the
highest possible standard of functionality, performance, craftsmanship, and execution. Every
element of the home was analyzed and refined to determine not simply how it could be built, but
how it could be optimized for performance, durability, functionality, and long-term value.
The result is a home where structural integrity, building science, technology, comfort, and
craftsmanship work together seamlessly. Exceptional quality is evident throughout the home, but
its greatest strengths are often found behind the walls—in the systems, engineering, and
construction practices that will continue to deliver comfort, performance, and longevity for
generations to come.
Irongate Custom Homes is proud to present Legacy—a showcase of what is possible when
performance, craftsmanship, and functional excellence guide every decision.

I’m Nate Thayer, President of Irongate Custom Homes.
When you hire Irongate, you don’t just get a builder—you get a partner. You get me, backed by
a trusted team of professionals and more than 30 years of experience building homes the right
way.
I’ve spent a lifetime in residential construction, beginning at age 16. I spent 20 years as a
framing carpenter, learning from the very best in the business. Eventually, I evolved into a
custom home builder and founded Irongate Custom Homes in 2010. This isn’t something I
stepped into later in life. I built my career from the ground up—literally.
What began as learning how to frame a home turned into a lifelong pursuit of understanding
every aspect of how a home should be built. And I’m still learning. In my spare time, I study
mathematics because I’m fascinated by Euclidean geometry and the structural principles that
form the foundation of great construction. To me, there’s something deeply satisfying about
seeing mathematics, engineering, and precision come together in a well-built home. When those
principles come together, elegance emerges.
When you hire Irongate, you’re getting someone who understands how a home comes together at
every level—not just on paper, but in practice. I’ve personally designed, drafted, and built
several of the homes Irongate has entered into the Parade of Homes, and many of them have
gone on to receive industry recognition.
That depth of experience is becoming increasingly rare. My advice to anyone building a custom
home is simple: ask your builder where they started. Ask what trade they learned first. Ask who
will be running your project day to day, and what qualifies that person to oversee the
construction of your home.
Exceptional homes are not managed into existence—they are mastered.
